On 10th of December 2006, seven people assembled at 7/190 Swaroop Nagar, ‘Bashir Lodge’, Kanpur – 208002, U.P, India the residence of Mr. S. Tariq, in response to his call for a group discussion. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the formation of a club for the owners of vintage and classic motor cars.

It was unanimously decided that a club should be formed and that it should be called the Vintage & Classic Car Club of Cawnpore. The objective to form the club was to provide a platform for vintage and classic cars, motor cycles and scooter enthusiasts specially in Kanpur and nearby cities to interact with each other and share their passion and problems. The following seven persons attended the mentioned meeting:

Although many vintage car rallies had been held in Kanpur but there was no proper club. People started losing interest in their old car and many of these beauties were sold off to people of other cities.

Little more than a month later, the first club rally was held in January 2007, eighteen cars were in attendance. Since then the club has been regularly holding rallies every year and the participation of cars and scooters is increasing steadily.
